| I’m not really in the wholesale business, but people do sometimes
ask me where they might be able to purchase my adult novels: Odd’s
End, The Knot and Fastyngange, all of
which are now out of print. Scroll down to find out how. It’s
easy, fun and cheap! |
My wife, Amanda Lewis, and I met in Stratford when
she was working backstage at the theatre there. In 1994 we collaborated
on a book called Rosie Backstage that celebrates that great little
city and the Shakespearean festival that has been going on in Stratford
for over fifty years.
The book is lavishly illustrated in
full colour by Bill Slavin. In it we look at how a theatre works,
from
the director
on
through
the
milliners,
property masters, set builders and all the folks who make thing happen
backstage so that the actors look good on stage. The book is also a
mystery featuring the bard, himself, with lots of side bars about
theatre in
Shakespeare’s time. |
Also, there is a very cool audiotape of the children’s musical Mischief City, for which I wrote the lyrics, and John Roby, wrote the
music. It features the fabulous vocal talents of Holly Cole and Richard
Binsley plus a truckload of first class Toronto studio musicians. Mischief
City had a good run at Toronto’s Young Peoples Theatre. The tape
is of the sixteen songs that were adapted from my poetry book of the
same name. The tape was originally distributed by A & M Records
but is no longer commercially available, except through me. |

| Finally, my rock band, The Suspects, made a CD a few years back. The
Suspects are: guitar, Franc van Oort; keyboard, Jack Hurd;
bass, Cam Gray; drums, Peter Bigras; and yours truly on lead vocals.
There are
ten original tunes; I wrote the lyrics to nine of them, with Franc,
Jack and Cam supplying the music. It’s rock’n roll with
a bit of blues thrown in, a smattering of jazz, and even a few country
licks,
here and there. |
